Dimitrios Sidopoulos

October 3, 1934 — November 27, 2025

Webster

Webster – Dimitrios Sidopoulos, 91, entered paradise on Thursday November 27, 2025, while surrounded by his loving family at Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Dimitrios was born in Militsa, Kastoria, Greece on October 3, 1934, son of the late Konstantinos and Eleftheria (Stergiopoulos) Sidopoulos. Dimitrios survived the German and Italian occupation during World War II, and the civil war that followed. After the war, the family started rebuilding their lives and Dimitrios found work in the fur industry in Kastoria. In 1966 Dimitrios married his beloved Efkarpia (Nikopoulos) Sidopoulos, seeking a better life, they emigrated the United States; they settled in Webster, staying with Efkarpia’s brother until moving to a home of their own. Dimitrios pursued a career as a furrier in New York on the weekends, but it proved to be too difficult to travel to and fro every week, and Dimitrios decided to find a more stable position; he found such a position as Steven's Linen in Dudley where he worked for over thirty years, retiring at age 67. After retirement, Dimitrios enjoyed many years together with his wife Efkarpia until her passing in January of 2022. Dimitrios lived a wonderful life; he enjoyed his family, friends, and his church; he was also fond of telling the stories of his youth and his days in Greece, serving in the army.

Dimitrios will be deeply missed by his son Kosta Sidopoulos, his wife Joyce Sidopoulos and their four daughters: Kassie Stratton and her husband Chase Stratton, Kristina, Katie, and Julia; his daughter Eleftheria Moutoudis, her husband Evangelos Moutoudis, and their children: Demitra and Yanni; his brother Pavlos Sidopoulos and his wife Agoro of Greece; his sister Eleni Raptis and her husband Yianni; he also leaves many beloved nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
