Ernest “Ernie” J. Gadoury Jr, of Webster, MA passed away peacefully at Umass Memorial Harrington Hospital in Southbridge, MA on October 8, 2026 after a brief illness.
Ernie was predeceased by his wife Margaret “Peggy” Gadoury (Lord), his brother Robert Gadoury, his sister Ann Tennyson, a grandson Jared Trucheon and his loyal dog Maggie.
He was the son of the late Ernest J. Gadoury Sr. & Agnes Swierzbin.
Ernie is survived by 8 children, Catherine Lamica of Charlton, MA, Ernest Gadoury of Milford NH, Elizabeth Rybacki of Laconia NH, Ellen Jordan of Southbridge, MA, Linda Trucheon of Spencer, MA , Gary Normandin of Thompson, CT, Stephen Normandin of Webster, MA & Amy Jones of Southbridge, MA, along with their spouses.
Ernie leaves several grandchildren & great grandchildren, nieces & nephews, whom he loved very much.
Ernie was born & raised on June 19, 1942 in Webster where he lived all of his life. Ernie graduated from Barlett High School in Webster, MA.
Ernie worked at American Optical in Southbridge, where he met the love of his life Peggy. Ernie & Peggie were married on September 11, 1976 in Norwich CT. Ernie also worked at Cranston Print Works in Webster, MA where he retired from in 2009.
Ernie was an avid sports fan, and always rooted for the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox. When football season came around or it was the playoffs of any team, Ernie would say “Don’t bother me, I’m watching my sports. He was known for walking around the neighborhood with his dog Maggie and talking to everyone he would see during his walk. He loved his coffee black & Coke a Cola cold.
Ernie lived at home with his caregivers his son Stephen and his daughter in law Pamela Welcome for the past 7 years before he went into the hospital.
Ernie will be deeply missed by his family; he is now with beloved Peggy and Maggie in heaven.
The family would like to send their sincerest gratitude to the staff at Harrington Hospital, the staff at Brookhaven Hospice, and the staff at Gianaris-Gliniecki & Beauregard Funeral Home in Webster for helping us through this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made to the ASPCA in Ernie’s name.
Ernie's Celebration of Life will be scheduled and announced soon. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Gianaris-Gliniecki & Beauregard Funeral Home, 366 School Street Webster, MA.
