Brockton – Peter Mario Porrazzo, 79, passed away on Saturday January 17, 2026 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer.
Peter was born in Brockton, MA on August 30, 1946, son of the late Mario and Mary (Cantalupo) Porrazzo. Peter graduated from Brockton High School in 1963, after which, he began his professional carer in the pressroom of the Brockton Enterprise, later becoming an accounts manager for Rumford Press. Peter owned and operated a small Pizza Restaurant with his friend and business partner Chris Bilis, whom he married in 2006 in the Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Webster. In 2023, at the age of 76, Peter retired from Signature Healthcare where he was employed as a state medical currier for twenty-eight years.
Peter will be remembered as a kind and private man who found delight in many hobbies; he was an avid non-fiction reader and amateur photographer, but he will be most remembered for his love of Muscle Cars, especially his favorite 1968 Silver Corvette, and of trains. Peter was a member of the Old Colony Railroad Club, serving as Chief Engineer, Skilled Craftsman, and mentor to many train and railroad enthusiasts; he published several articles in Trains Magazine and 0 Gauge Railroading.
Peter is survived by his best friend and soulmate Christine (Bilis) Porrazzo, his favorite cousin Debbie (Gaurill) Cronin and her husband Daniel; he also leaves many relatives and dear friends.
